Crafting Champions for Over 25 Years
Over 25 years experience. Every horse cared for becomes part of the Meadowlark Family.
About us
Meadowlark Farms is located on the West side of Airdrie, Alberta; just off Highway 2 (QEII) and secondary Highway 567. We are also a short 15 minute drive to Century Downs Casino and Racetrack at Balzac.
Carl and Karen have a combined 45 years of horse experience, the majority of it with Standardbreds, and are ready to care for your performance horses. Quality care is provided by Carl and Karen who oversee all of the daily operations. Every horse that arrives at Meadowlark Farms, whether short-term or long-term, becomes part of the Meadowlark Farms family.
Meadowlark Farms received its name due to the large number of resident meadowlarks. In fact, a meadowlark was the first bird that welcomed them when viewing their first property near Langdon. A number of resident meadowlarks also live on the Airdrie property.
At Meadowlark Farms we provide high-quality hay in the winter months consisting of an alfalfa/timothy mixture designed specifically for horses as well as excellent pasture during the summer months. Nutrition and safety are of the utmost importance. A vaccination program, regular deworming and a custom mixed feed are provided to ensure a healthy environment for its residents.
We offer boarding of broodmares, yearlings, weanlings, turn-outs and lay-ups. Whether your need is long term, seasonal or short term, we are sure your horses would like to call Meadowlark Farms home.
We also offer mare breeding, foaling and foal care, and have a great connection with one of the most respected veterinary services in the area. We provide sales prep and representation at the annual ASHA yearling sale.
NOTE:
Boarding fees will be charged from the day of arrival until the day of departure regardless of whether it is AM or PM. All board, vet and other charges must be paid before horses depart from the farm.
Meadowlark Farms requires 24 hours’ notice for arrival and departure of any horse.
